1 коментар до “Julie Strain from “Heavy Metal 2000””
In 1981 the animated anthology Heavy Metal was released, based on the magazine called Métal Hurlant in its native France (Screaming Metal) but localized to ‘Heavy Metal’ in English. Some of the artists for the magazine made a comic called Melting Pot, which was eventually serialized in the magazine and adapted into another animated feature, this time of one grand story.
Heavy Metal 2000 follows the bloody adventures of Julie (Julie Strain) who is one of a handful of survivors of her planet after a madman Tyler driven by a mystic green stone (Micheal Ironside) sought to drain them of their essence in the pursuit of eternal life. It’s intentional OTT in a way you get can’t find in any medium, not even the most depraved adult cartoons or anime. Some may find it too edgy for the sake of edge, but I still think the feature is very enjoyable, from Tyler’s dry wit to Julie’s utter stone-faced devotion to vengeance.
Dark-haired, adult female warrior character, with a determined, strong expression. Medium build, athletic physique. Character is holding a large, ornate axe. Deep red, low-cut, cut-out, leotard-style outfit, showcasing curves. Dark gray arm bands. Dark leggings. Sharp, defined facial features, and piercing eyes. The character’s expression is one of intense focus, implying a confrontational mood. The background features a muted, burnt orange backdrop, with a large, textured, dark brown/terracotta-colored object, seemingly a large rock or an ancient structure behind her. The lighting is dramatic, highlighting the warrior figure’s form and emphasizing the contrast between her vibrant red outfit and the muted tones of the background. The style is cartoony, animated, with a slightly exaggerated portrayal of the human form. The perspective is a slightly angled view of the character, with the foreground concentrating on her figure and weapon. Strong, dynamic composition. The art style is reminiscent of 2D animated action. Focus on details and smooth lines of the cartoon animation style.
