Jules Scalbert (1851–1928) was a French painter whose work is primarily associated with Realism, academic genre scenes, and the elegant, leisurely themes of the Belle Epoque. As a student of Isidore Pils and Henri Lehmann, he specialized in scenes depicting the leisurely life of the wealthy classes, including bathers, coastal landscapes, and pastoral scenes.
